Description
Our client, a leading telecom provider with operations across Africa and
the Middle East, is looking for a Senior Manager: Charging and Billing.
The responsibilities of the role:
- Own the strategy and the roadmap related to Charging and Billing platforms
- Actively manage the key vendors
- Monitor incident escalations and quality of service delivered by third party vendors
- Provide input in the selection of suitable technologies and billing solutions and negotiate/manage contracts with vendors accordingly
- Apply technical knowledge in ensuring seamless customisation and installation of billing solutions based on user/organisational requirements
- Develop a proactive maintenance cycle per billing solution and ensure that application documentation is up-to-date at all times
- Assist in problem investigation, analysis and resolution for billing solutions.
- Conduct verification of all billing platforms problems and provide necessary support to User and corrective action
- Identify and define system/process requirements necessary to control and resolve revenue leakage/opportunities
- Set up new and enhance the existing controls to mitigate the risks associated with it (revenue assurance)
- Work with the overall solution architect to help identify architecture-related issues, constraints, options and opportunities, own the process to analyse such items and propose a solution that is aligned to the overall billing / revenue assurance solution architecture
- Mentor, direct and train staff and perform as the technical lead on projects (as required)
Professional background
- Minimum 4-year Academic Degree (B Eng / BSc Degree preferred)
- Master’s degree (advantageous)
- Relevant certification/accreditation/membership with professional body as required for role
- Fluent in English and language of country (preferable)
- South African citizen, EE eligible
- Manager track record of 5 years or more; with at least 3 years in relevant sector/ industry / area of specialisation
- Worked across diverse cultures and geographies (advantageous)
- Experience working in a large organisation
- Working experience of Ericsson Charging System is advantageous
