How does one monetize integration services?
I am interested in understanding whether there are companies out there that have successfully monetized integration services such as Google API within a Telco sector and how they have achieved such.

How does one monetize integration of services?
Based on my experience as IT Service Director and having worked in a company where we had centralized services under an ITSM model guided by ITIL, my answer would be:
The way to monetize integration of services is by providing a simple channel, with clear instructions on how to consume the services offered. Perhaps the monetization is not so much on the side of the service provider, as it takes resources to integrate and streamline the delivery of the services, but definitely it is going to be on the side of the consumer within the entire organization (assuming that the service department is part of the company’s organization). As “time is money”, imagine yourself as the consumer of services in your company and these services are offered to you all in one place (physical or virtual), perfectly integrated, and this “place” also knows your consumer habits or needs. Don’t you think that this service setup would provide cost savings to the company and value to its internal users treating them as real consumers? This is one way to monetize integration of services within the company. Here is a link to an article that describes what I did at HEINEKEN USA reminiscent of the concept of the Apple store but within the company…, we called it “the ITStore” (https://consumergoods.com/heineken-usa-innovates-it).
A good plan is essential. There is value in getting to the cost savings of an acquisition on time or even faster. An effective integration can also minimize unwanted turnover and there is high value in this impact. Often times productivity and organization effectiveness can suffer due to s poor integration leading to lower profits or list sales and potentially clients. All of these impacts can be avoided or lessened with a well thought and properly executed integration plan. Reasonable financial estimates can be made in all of these areas
Ignore above post. I did not see the full question and replied for integration services during an acquisition
Hi Alistair. We have used Google Maps, WhatsUp, Viber and gmail service integration with our application. Google Maps (geolocation and routing service) for customer service delivery and customer fault repair. Once we get coordinates we remember them and later only show on Map which is free of charge. Also we use google maps on our mobile application for technicians. On Mobile application we use WhatsUp, Viber and g-mail to communicate with customer on his prefered way (agreed time to visit,...). Of cours Customr should confirm GDPR request. Integration taks about 3-5 days. The charges from google are included into license. If you may be more specific about the google service you are interested for it would be helpfull.
In general I have personally lead a lots of integrations and it never taks to long (synch or asynch). Monetization of integration always depends on motivation of IT company doing integration and knowledge of entire team. For example my team have integrated Service delivery system with SAP (ERP) within 7 days. It was real time integration.
