Our client, a cable operator, is currently looking for a Service Transition Specialist with...
- Proficiency in Video & Media including: IP, QAM, Video Distribution, DVB Standards - SI, Mpeg-PSI, Video -Encoding, compression, and Delivery Applications, OTT
- General IT Experience, Active Directory, Microsoft Windows Server 2008-2012 Architecture/Workstation Platform, Linux-CentOS, Ubuntu, VM Ware/ HyperV Virtualization, Database: MYSQL, MS SQL, Apache SQL, HTML, XML, Python, Power Shell scripting, Perl, IP Networking and Network Architecture understanding
- Experience with packaging encryption and digital rights management technologies, including understanding of video file formats
- Knowledge of the digital media ecosystem and live and on-demand video workflow including signal acquisition, encoding, publishing, ad serving, online video platform services, content delivery, subscriber management and client side applications
Skills and qualifications:
- MSc degree level in a relevant area (network-, communications- or consumer electronics engineering)
- Fluent spoken and written English
- German language skills not mandatory, but advantageous
- Serveral years of experience in the cable, satellite or telco industry
- Several years of experience in service platform implementation of B2C video services
- Several years of experience and knowledge of CATV technologies, DTV and VOD/ReplayTV, Middleware platforms and Video Delivery technologies
- Several years of experience in product and services related software
- Experience with working in an international and distributed team environment
- An understanding of Entertainment B2C services regarding:
- commercial & content side
- product development process
- deep understanding of entertainment technology & ecosystem from back-office & service platforms, and Apps (IOS, Android, HTML5)
- broad understanding of IP and broadcast networking as well as data center infrastructure - Know-how of entertainment related costs and economics and able to support unit economic analysis
- A strong overall understanding of the technologies and platforms specific to a large cable and telecommunications operator
- Technical knowledge and implementation experience regarding Video CAS, DRM, Video back-ends, workflows, CMS, security services, Search & Recommendations, Application Services, CDN, Ad Insertion, broadband data, home networking, TV, VoD, cDVR
- Good overall knowledge of / familiarity with telecommunications technologies, including: Ethernet, broadcast, as well as „Most Current IP Communication Protocols"
- Good knowledge of / familiarity with Audio and Video coding/decoding technologies
- Good knowledge of / familiarity with related IT systems (OSS & BSS)
