Our client, one of the leading renewable energy companies, is looking for a Senior AI and Data Science Expert to join a long-term project in Qatar.On-site work in Doha, Qatar is expected.
The initial duration of the contract is 12 months. In the future, a permanent role may be offered.
Our client has set up a world-class global Innovation Center in Qatar. They work at the intersection of energy and digital technologies, focusing on three key innovation and product development areas: smart grids, renewable energy integration and smart solutions for their customers.
Our client's Innovation Center consists of cloud platform development experts and analytics experts, and almost all their employees have exposure to both areas but with more emphasis on one of them.
For the Senior AI and Data Science Expert role, they are looking for someone who is more focused on the development of algorithms and analytical solutions, but they want to have people who know how to deploy these solutions in cloud platforms.
Senior AI and Data Expert has to know about analytics and machine learning (one of the branches of AI) and have experience in deploying analytical solutions in industrial environments (hence exposure to big data technologies and cloud platforms is expected).

Responsibilities:
- Understanding business and client needs and translating them into functional and technical requirements
- Designing, planning, and executing AI /analytics cloud and edge solutions
- Work effectively with Cloud Architects and Full-Stack Developers to design, implement and operate superior cloud and edge solutions
- Leading technical teams: building strong, motivated, focused teams to deliver superior analytical solutions in demanding environments
- Validating developments and ensuring the application of methodologies and standards
Experiencia profesional
- Bachelor's degree or MSc in Mathematics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields. PhD in a relevant discipline would be a strong plus
- 7+ years of solid data science experience
- Solid experience in analytics and machine learning
- Proven experience deploying analytical solutions in cloud computing environments (Azure, AWS) for industrial applications. Proficient in ML DevOps
- Strong programming skills working with data structures and algorithms (i.e., SQL, Python/R)
- Knowledge and experience analyzing large amounts of data in big data (i.e., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and cloud computing environments (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Applied knowledge and experience in Visualization tools (Power BI, Looker, D3, …)
- Familiarity with cloud-native databases like Cosmos DB, DynamoDB
- Preferred Additional Skills:
- Spanish speaker
- Relevant certifications in cloud architecture (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect)
- Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms
- Familiarity with serverless architectures
- Experience leading small teams
